All Saints' Church is located off the beaten track. The sturdy low tower has a pyramidal roof which is capped with red tiles. The church has a charming mix of roofing materials; the nave is covered with black shiny pantiles and the chancel is thatched. A restoration of 1911 reduced the tower's height as it was in a precarious state. Enter the church and marvel at the 14th century wall paintings on the north nave wall. The colours have faded with red surviving best, but yellow ochre can still be seen. Scenes include the Tree of Seven Deadly Sins, St Christopher, Jesus standing before Pontius Pilate, the Scourging, the Crucifixion, the Entombment, Jesus riding into Jerusalem, the Last Supper and the Ascension. Another key area of interest is the 15th century rood screen with beautiful carvings of bats (or skeletons with wings!), green men looking out through foliage, harts and pelicans.
