Colney church is home to a small and welcoming community. It is situated near to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, the Norwich Spire Hospital and the University of East Anglia. Colney itself is a small village with historic links with the Barclay banking family. A stained glass window depicts Mrs Evelyn Barclay and her eight children. Her son Terence, dressed in blue, was killed by one of the family's pet lions in 1911 and his younger brother David died of wounds received on the Western Front in 1916. They are both buried in the churchyard.
