St Andrew’s, Little Massingham
Open daily dawn to dusk.
St Andrew’s sits at the top of a hill on a quiet rural lane behind a low flint and stone wall. It is surrounded by rolling countryside and farmland. A bench outside the church provides a resting place for visitors and walkers exploring the nearby roman road- Peddars Way to enjoy the views. There are 7 commonwealth war graves in the churchyard and 2 WW war memorials within the church. The church holds an interesting display of archives written by Sister Lawrence, a catholic Nun who researched the history of the airfield and members of the RAF squadron who were stationed there. St Andrew’s is a picturesque 14th century church with a small, embattled tower. It consists of a west tower, a nave with north and south aisles, a south porch and a chancel with a vestry to the north of it.
