A delightful church in the Decorated style. The original Jacobean altar table can be found under the tower. Look down as you leave at the huge cracked step by the west door. This might be a pre-Reformation altar slab placed here deliberately so that those leaving would defile it with their shoes on the way out. A memorial plaque commemorates four Canadian airmen killed in a plane crash near Beetley church in 1942. Another plaque remembers a father and son who were stationed on the remote island of St Helena with the East India Company.Incorrect information? Update this entry
