The charm of Swardeston church lies in its uncluttered simplicity. The nurse Edith Cavell grew up in Swardeston vicarage and is commemorated in the East window and by photographs in the church. Adjacent to the church is the Cavell Room, in which there is a display about the life and death of Edith Cavell, visitors can view DVD's about her and see copies of memorabilia. There are details of a walk around the village showing sites associated with the Cavell family.
