Unusually for Norfolk, St Peter’s Church is situated on a slope which brings a new meaning to walking ‘up the aisle.’ It also enhances the height of the tower which is unusual in that it is octagonal in its entirety. The majority of the church dates to the 14th century. A Perpendicular style chancel window, probably Victorian, has replaced a larger window. It features a beautiful depiction of the Transfiguration. Step into a spacious interior and notice the 13th century font with sides of double arcades. Other items of interest include a huge Victorian stone pulpit and a sanctuary piscina.
